This amazing 1909 pre-war apartment in the historical Turin building on Central Park West was purchased by our clients, a young and growing family. We all loved the the many classic details this apartment offered, however the choppy and compartmentalized classical layout of the rooms did not work well for their modern lifestyle. Rather than gut the character right out of this home, we worked to calibrate a balance between the old and the new by reorganizing the flow and visual access between the main living spaces. By featuring many of the original details, proportions and materials, we sought to maintain the beautiful and original character in the finished spaces.
